Accomplishments

 My freshman term has been a time of learning and leadership.  I was honored to be appointed as Assistant Ranking Member on the Civil Rights & Judiciary Committee, which gives me key involvement in critical legislation impacting the courts and law enforcement. My background as an attorney and Ferry County District Court Judge provides me invaluable insight into these issues. 

I was also honored to be appointed to the Joint Committee on Veterans and Military Affairs, the Finance Committee, Rules Committee, and Environment and Energy Committee.  These committee assignments afford me critical opportunities to advocate for our district and state as a whole.

It was also a time of legislative success. Through a lot of hard work, and the support of folks back home, my office was successful in passing four pieces of prime-sponsored legislation. This includes the "Jim Judd Memorial Act" (HB 1541), the Family Burial Ground bill (HB 2239), the Port of Pend Oreille railroad workers' bill (HB 2179), and the Remote Electronic Notarization bill (HB 2158). Each of these bills are designed to serve the people of the 7th District and enhance and strengthen our rural quality of life.
